Entry into New Horizons Preschool is open to children aged from 3 years onwards who are in their pre-kinder year.
ENROLMENTS & WAITING LISTS
Prospective families may find themselves on a waiting list when considering enrollment availability at New Horizons. Sometimes the demand for childcare exceeds the number of available spaces at our Centre. When this happens, it is important for our service to allocate places to those families with the greatest need for child care support. To this end, the Australian Government has determined guidelines for allocating places under such circumstances. At New Horizons, we also have a range of polices which have been adopted for the benefit of all children at the school, and two of these policies have a direct bearing upon enrolment availability:
- The maximum group size is limited to 25 children, with three full time qualified staff members.
- A gender balance policy which ensures an even balance between male and female students.
Enrolments one to two years ahead of actual commencement date are common, and are likely to ensure a place is available. Students enrolled later are still likely to gain a placement, but this cannot be guaranteed.
